From Marrakech: Ouzoud Waterfalls Day Trip with Hike and Boat Option
Visit Morocco's highest waterfalls, about 110 m tall, walk down through olive groves, spot Barbary macaques and take an optional boat ride to the spray.
The High Atlas rises just south of Marrakech and is visible from the city on clear days. It is home to Amazigh (Berber) villages, terraced valleys and Jebel Toubkal, at 4,167 m the highest mountain in North Africa. The Ourika Valley is about an hour away and Imlil, the trailhead for Toubkal, about 1h30.
For an easy introduction, the Imlil and three valleys day trip combines scenic drives with a guided village walk. Hikers can take on the 2-day Mount Toubkal trek, and the Ouzoud waterfalls, around 150 km from Marrakech in the Middle Atlas foothills, make another popular day out.
Best time to visit: April to October for trekking. From December to March the high passes and Toubkal usually carry snow and need winter equipment.
